COVID 19 Update

Starting Thursday, April 2nd, our office will begin limited hours, from 8am to 1pm daily, to limit employee exposure. While we recognize that heat is a necessity, our company wishes to support the Governor’s “Stay at Home” directive. All delivery routes will persist as scheduled and we will continue to have a technician available 24/7, for emergencies. After 1pm, our customers are encouraged to leave a voicemail for our office staff – including for fuel orders and account inquiries.
 
We ask that customers only page our technicians for legitimate emergencies, such as no heat, no hot water, or serious leaks: our technicians have been instructed not to respond to any non-emergency call. If you require emergency service, we ask that customers unlock their door prior to the technician’s arrival, do not greet the technician at the door, and remove yourself from the room while the technician is present.

Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, we at Conti Oil would like to make you aware of some necessary adjustments that will take effect immediately.

As a Vermont-based fuel provider, we are acutely aware that whether in normal times or times of uncertainty such as these, heating one’s home is not a luxury, but a necessity. As such, we want to assure you that Conti Oil will continue to provide service as normal without disruption. We do, however, ask that you take note of the following adjustments that have been made in the best interest of the health and well-being of both our employees and you, our valued customers:

  • Conti Oil’s main office located at 97 Websterville Road in Barre will be closed to the public. For any customers wishing to make payments in person, there will be a drop box available outside the office. Those doing so are asked to please include your name and address, or account number with the payment.
  • Customers are strongly encouraged to make payments via our online portal at connect.contoil.com or call the office and pay with a credit or debit card. Please note that there is no additional fee for card processing, and there will be no change in pricing for those using credit cards as a form of payment over cash or checks.
  • Any account wishing to pay upon delivery are asked to please refrain from giving payment directly to drivers. If the driver needs to pick up payment, please leave your payment somewhere easily accessible for the driver to limit unnecessary interpersonal contact.
  • While technical service will continue, we ask that customers refrain from calling for any non-emergency service calls relating to heating systems, including routine maintenance, in order to limit unnecessary risk of exposure for service technicians.

Like everyone, we hope for a quick resolution to this outbreak and a resumption of our normal procedures, but for the time being, we please ask you to be understanding of these necessary precautions. As always, it is Conti Oil’s goal to continue providing the best possible service to our customers, and see these adjustments as the safest way to ensure that does not change.
